Metroland pricing and options for Bulletin

Metroland Flyer Distribution

We must print the flyers on our own at our choice of printer in bundles of 100 and then we deliver or ship the flyers to the distribution site in the particular town/city at our cost min. 5 days before distribution. We can also have Metroland do the printing.

Flyers typically inserted by machine - cost to insert and distribute (not print): minimum 5000 flyers is $55 per 1000, cost decreases as numbers increase to $39 per million

Example: Markham Economist 67,500 distribution @ $45/1000 = $3038 plus tax plus our printing cost etc.

Era Banner = $3168 plus, RH/Thornhill Liberal $3660 plus, Vaughan Citizen $2400 plus, Barrie Advance $2400 plus

Flyer jacket covers flyers are printed by Metroland - 4 pages like our current Bulletin but in colour on thicker newsprint paper. Price including printing = $64/1000, so in Markham $64 x 67.5 = $4320 plus tax.

Metroland has a website where people come to read news in their community. They charge $1500 to be on website - typically 100,000 impressions they say OR use the flyerland.ca website for just $1000 for 30 days online (measured results - because they can track viewings)

Decision Making

Option 1 - Website

Cost: $1500 + 10 hours to prepare submission content.

Benefit: 100,000 low-quality impressions, say 5% chance of "connecting"

Option 2 - Markham Economist, running our bulletin

Cost: $3038 + tax + printing cost (need to quantify)

Benefit: 67,500 high-quality impressions, say 20% chance of "connecting"

Option 3 - Ad in Markham Economist

Cost: Allen finding out price.

Benefit: 67,500 low-quality impressions, say 5% chance of "connecting"

Option 4 - Flyer Insert in Markham Economist

Cost: Jim, can you find out/know the price to print? + 15 hours to prepare submission content.

Benefit: 67,500 medium-quality impressions, say 10% chance of "connecting"
