Grandfathered Executive Rights

This is an OLP POLICY. It should have purpose, roles, and procedure defined. It should be in alignment with the OLP strategy.

Purpose

This policy is intended to define the scope and responsibilities of past executive members who leave the executive in good standing.

TL;DR Summary

Admins have to demote admins, Chair has to be in the loop, ethics committee checks up on it. In general, past execs have earned higher grandfather rights than regular members.

Roles

• OLP_EXEC_Discussions Yahoo Groups Admins - anybody who is an admin of the OLP_EXEC_Discussions at the time when the executive leaves.
• Facebook Page Admins - anybody who is an admin of the OLP Facebook Page at the time when the executive leaves.
• Facebook Group Admins - anybody who is an OLP Facebook Group Admins at the time when the executive leaves.
• Ontario Libertarian Party Internal Wiki - anybody who is an OLP Facebook Group Admins at the time when the executive leaves.
• Respective Site Admin - Any OLP_EXEC_Discussions Yahoo Group Admins, OLP Facebook Page Admins, OLP Facebook Group Admins.
• Ethics Committee - the entire ethics committee.
• Chair - the Chair of the party when the executive leaves.

Procedure

1. Within 30 days of departure it is the responsibility of the remaining Respective Site Admins to demote any executive from admin/executive status down to a level of access appropriate for grandfathered executives as per the appendix attached.
2. When the demotion occurs, the respective site admins have a responsibility to inform the Chair.
3. The ethics committee, need to confirm with the Chair that the proper demotion occured.

Appendix A: Respective Site Grandfathered Rights

• Ontario Libertarian Party Internal Wiki: Any past executive member who had admin rights will be demoted to preparer and approver. All other rights remain.
• OLP_EXEC_Discussions@yahoogroups.com: Any past executive member who had admin rights will be demoted to subscriber with posting rights. All other rights remain.
  • Special Note: The admins of the yahoo group must post a list of the various executive members and the grandfathered executive members after any new addition, removal, promotion or demotion, noting the changes.
