This is an OLP POLICY. It should have purpose, roles, and procedure defined. It should be in alignment with the OLP strategy.
IN THE AUTHOR'S MIND, THIS DOCUMENT IS LESS THAN 50% COMPLETE. IT IS A DRAFT IN PROGRESS. HE OR SHE LIKELY HAS MORE TO ADD, AND WILL DO SO SOON.

In the absense of a constituency association, the Ontario Libertarian Candidate Succession Policy is documented below.

Prior to filing nomination papers with Elections Ontario, if multiple candidates want to run in the same riding, the candidates will be guided to: 1. Discuss between themselves, to come to agreed path-forward. The path-foward, at the time of agreement, should be documented via a three-way e-mail exchange. 2. If a mutually agreed path-foward cannot be resolved, or if one of the possible candidates does not abide by the path-forward, the party leader will be the single point of contact for definining a path-foward and concluding the party endoresement. 3. Once a decision is made by the leader, it is final.

The party leader will make a transparent decision based on:

  1. Age
  2. Education
  3. Contribution to the Party
  4. Money Donated
  5. Work & Life Experience
  6. Communication Skills
  7. The Candidate's personal position on political issues
