While I agree that any candidate should have been "actively involved" in the Party, this is not currently a requirement in our Constitution or Bylaws. We are proposing an constitutional amendment to require a candidate for leadership to have spent at least a year as an Officer of the Executive Committee. 3.0 Revocation of Candidacy
This sounds like "guilty until proven innocent" and should not be used to prevent a member from being a candidate, especially if there is less than 30 days to the Convention. It would be appropriate to include the complaint in the candidates profile, with the disclaimer that the Ethics Committee has not yet ruled. If the Ethics Committee rejects the complaint (e.g. lack of evidence), either this should be added to the comments or the charges should be deleted from the profile. --Jim McIntosh 12:44, 21 July 2019 (EDT)

4.0 Campaign Period The campaign period shall commence no less than 100 days prior to the Convention in which a Leadership Race has been declared.
